Do you bear in mind your very first day of school? Well, I don’t. But I am sure many of you remember your little one’s very first day of school (those who have children of course), just like I will don’t forget my little boy’s, for a lengthy time to come. My little boy probably did not realise how unique an event his very first day of school was. But I was nervous and excited days before he had to go it seemed like I had to prepare for so a lot, really a lot of it on the emotional front I guess. Far more than readying him, I had to prepare myself for this journey he was about to begin, which would continue for a lot of years to come and would play a big component in shaping up his personality. There most likely is lots of data on the internet about what to do prior to your child’s initial day of school. I just thought I would add my bit and put it all in once location. I did some thinking earlier on and produced a mental checklist of what I needed to do, and it did aid me really a bit. So here goes…
1. Mental Preparation:
Very first and foremost, you and your kid both will need to be prepared for this! Initial target yourself
You want to be ready for your child to be away from you, in the care of other people, even if its for a few hours everyday of course, far more so, if you are a stay-at-residence mom. You have to understand that he will be understanding a lot of much more issues now, will be meeting much more children now and may possibly in reality become naughtier
Its all a part of the game, sigh..thats what I had to tell myself. It was not straightforward, let me tell you. As far as your baby is concerned, its far better to start preparing him/her earlier on so that he gets all excited about going to school. We took our little boy along with us when we began our survey of schools (step 2 below). This was a few months just before he really began going to school. We kept telling him how much enjoyable it was going to be and how he would make numerous friends and play with them. The 1st day he was quite pleased and in fact, wasn’t prepared to come back home following school

Should we and can we develop an African philosophy of education?: Pedagogy of Sagacity
In 1986, Njoroge and Bennaars, published Philosophy and education in Africa an introductory text for students of education. Considering that the publication of this textbook there has been an intellectual aridity in this region of educational philosophizing in Kenya. This is in spite of the said textbook becoming merely introductory or prolegomenon. Far more importantly is the model proposed and formulated in this textbook intended as a conceptual framework for creating an African philosophy of education (1986 92). This model has remained un-attempted.
My paper will argue in the affirmative although distinguishing need to as a non-moral normative imperative and can as a question of ability. Even though indeed we should develop African philosophy of education this imperative remains unachievable until we have experts with requisite scholarly abilities.
